Day 131

Day 131

- Cheeseburger with lettuce, onion, tomato, mayo, mustard and reduced sugar ketchup on an oopsie roll
- Mushrooms stuffed with sausage, cream cheese and cheddar
- A spoonful of peanut butter (teaspoon) with whipped cream on top
- Turkey and deluxe American cheese with mayo on an oopsie roll

Progress is being made! 15 more pounds to go and I will be at my lowest adult weight... And that was like six years ago when I was 21. Before, I lost 64 pounds, only to re-gain every single one back. I think the real key is making whatever you are doing a lifestyle so that you can sustain it for more than just losing the weight... the real work is to keep it off.

What am I going to do differently this time to keep my weight off? Well... I am NOT going to ignore the scale. I will NOT fool myself into thinking "I'm done" with my weight loss and getting TOO COMFORTABLE and eat whatever I want, thinking I'm invincible to re-gaining the weight. I think it's a real fear... re-gaining our weight back.... I even have nightmares about it sometimes.

What do you do to make sure you don't gain the weight back?

  2. well I did gain back a couple of pounds, but this is not a big deal really...I'm ok with that. However I will never see my highest weight again and I think the reason is like you say, a lifestyle change as opposed to a diet. Some people dont need to focus so much, but I am one of the people that do need to pay attention.
So thats what I will do, pay attention! (As much as I can!)

  4. I look at things like an addict - if someone offers me a piece of cake, "only one little slice/bite won't hurt you" - they wouldn't say that to an alcoholic would they? And I react like an addict and say "yes, it really will. No thank you!" I have certainly been on the lose all the weight/gain it all back plus more boat, and do NOT want to go there again!!!

  5. I totally agree with what both of you are saying... It's a lifestyle plus really realizing that "one piece" is never enough.... and even "just one" can be soooo detrimental to my health.

    Thanks for the comments, ladies!

  6. Well done, Angie!

I've maintained my goal weight by sticking pretty closely to the diet that helped me get where I am today. I allow for a slightly broader selection of foods but very rarely indulge in actual "junk food". I also use the scale as an objective marker of how I'm doing. So far, that's working well. I'm rarely higher or lower than my target weight by much.

Keep up the good work! :)
